How does Oundle support pupils applying for Medicine/Veterinary Science?

Medicine and Veterinary Science are competitive and demanding university pathways and we offer dedicated support for pupils aspiring to these careers.

Pupils follow a specialist preparation stream led by a dedicated university admissions coordinator.  Tailored guidance on work experience, personal statements, admissions tests (i.e. UCAT for Medicine) and interview preparation, including multiple mini-interviews (MMIs), which are increasingly used in the application process.

Subject teachers and Tutors also provide valuable insight and encouragement throughout and pupils are supported in developing the wider skills and experiences that these courses demand — from critical thinking and communication to resilience and reflection.

As with all our university guidance, support for medical and veterinary applicants is highly personalised. We take time to understand each pupil’s motivations, strengths and aspirations to ensure that they are applying to the right course and university for them — and that they do so with confidence and clarity.
