Oundle has a strong and consistent record of success with Oxford and Cambridge applications. Around 10% of pupils receive offers in a wide range of subjects across STEM, the Arts and Humanities each year.
Support begins well before the application process. Our academic ethos is rooted in curiosity, depth and independence of thought — the very qualities that Oxbridge values most. Through our curriculum, Academic Scholarship and enrichment programmes, pupils are encouraged to think critically, explore beyond the syllabus and develop their intellectual voice.
More targeted support begins in the Lower Sixth. Pupils meet regularly with subject-specific Oxbridge mentors who guide them through wider reading, research and early application planning. They receive expert advice on college choice, personal statements, admissions assessments and interview preparation — all carefully tailored to their chosen subject and learning style.
We are proud of our outstanding offer-to-application rate, which reflects not just the strength of our academic preparation, but the time we take to get to know our pupils as individuals. By understanding their interests, motivations and potential, we are able to help them apply for courses and colleges that genuinely suit them — and to approach the process with confidence and purpose.
