How does Oundle support pupils' personal development?

Our Learning for Life programme is a graduated and tailored programme running across all year groups, designed to help pupils develop good character and make wise choices.

It equips them not only with knowledge but also with greater self-awareness, confidence and resilience. The programme encourages pupils to approach life from both a practical and personal perspective, while preparing them thoroughly and pragmatically for university and beyond.

An essential part of an Oundle education, Learning for Life plays a key role in fostering a strong and supportive community. Designed from the ground up by pupils and teachers specifically for Oundelians, it has grown to integrate with many areas of School life, including the Emotional Wellbeing Team, the Pupil Pastoral Forum, Community Action, the Stahl Theatre, Houses and a wide range of pupil-led societies.

The programme is enriched by external partnerships with organisations such as Bold Voices, the Breck Foundation, the Money Charity, It Happens and the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation, who deliver specialist talks, workshops and discussion groups. These opportunities help pupils connect what they learn to the real world through personal stories and varied perspectives.
