How is the Year 7 (11+) curriculum structured?

At 11+, Oundle offers a bespoke and graduated curriculum that nurtures independence, curiosity and a love of learning.

Mornings are devoted to core academic subjects, making the most of pupils’ natural alertness, while afternoons provide space for creativity, sport and dedicated reading. All pupils study Latin and choose either French or Spanish as their main modern language, with the opportunity to explore Ancient Greek, German and Chinese through a language carousel.

Twice a week, pupils take part in our Electives programme, selecting from a wide range of activities that reflect their interests and broaden their experience.

On Saturdays First and Second form pupils take part in Omnia, a programme carefully crafted by our teachers to ignite sparks, open up new opportunities and stimulate minds. From encouraging exploration to fostering climate champions and critical thinkers, pupils will be presented with a myriad of activities to whet every appetite. Omnia takes place on Saturday mornings throughout the two years, building confidence and creating experiences that will support and enhance academic learning. It is the perfect stepping stone towards Third Form where all pupils have Saturday morning academic lessons.
