Is 11+ boarding right for my child if they haven’t boarded before?

Absolutely — in fact, The Berrystead is designed with this very scenario in mind. Many of our 11+ boarders haven’t boarded before and the House team is brilliant at helping them settle in gently and confidently. Life at The Berrystead is warm, inclusive and full of small moments that help children feel at home — from shared meals and dorm chats to House pets, games nights and vibrant weekend activities.

Many children who start in our three-day or weekly model end up asking to move to full boarding — which we think says a lot!
