The Co-Curriculum at Oundle is central to School life – not a bolt-on, but a defining part of how pupils grow, thrive and discover their place in the world.
It encompasses an exceptionally broad range of activities beyond the classroom – from sport, music and drama to CCF, DofE, service, societies and trips. One of the great strengths of being a large, full-boarding school is the sheer scope this gives for a rich and varied co-curricular life.
At Oundle, opportunity is taken seriously. There really is something for everyone – and we care about doing things well. Our approach is ambitious, thoughtful and balanced, encouraging pupils to explore widely and to commit with purpose. With guidance from their Tutors, each pupil builds a personal programme that reflects their interests and helps them grow.
The programme is structured around three strands: Leadership, Adventure and Service, and Creativity and Culture. These strands connect pupils with life beyond the classroom – and often beyond the School gates.
Through active participation, pupils develop essential qualities such as confidence, compassion, initiative and resilience. They also gain lifelong skills in communication, leadership, teamwork and creativity – all of which prepare them for life beyond school. Just as importantly, the Co-Curriculum helps pupils build a strong sense of belonging, identity and purpose.
