The Oundle Scholarship recognises pupils who embody the spirit of School life - those who are curious, enthusiastic and full of energy. Oundle Scholars are not just academically able, but are actively involved in co-curricular life. Whether on stage, on the sports field, in workshops or in leadership roles, they give their best and lead by example.
It isn't based on a single talent or academic subject. Instead, it celebrates character - enthusiasm, commitment and a love of learning. Successful candidates are often those who throw themselves into new experiences and bring a spark to School life.
Assessment for the Oundle Scholarship takes place over two days at the School in March and includes a variety of group activities, a one-to-one interview and the chance to experience elements of Oundle life — from drama and debating to sport and leadership challenges.
Once at Oundle, Scholars join a bespoke programme. They meet regularly for inspiring sessions led by senior staff in sport, music, drama and debating and also enjoy special trips that reward engagement and encourage further participation. Scholars with a particular co-curricular strength are supported through our specialist programmes.
