Every pupil arrives at Oundle with individual learning requirements. A screening programme for pupils new to the School helps to identify those who may need some additional support and ensures that we are aware early on of any possible underlying difficulties.
Our Educational Support department is well-resourced and experienced, with six specialist staff offering personalised one-to-one support at no additional charge — for as long as it is needed. This is increasingly rare in senior schools, and it reflects our belief in helping pupils build the skills they need to flourish, both in and beyond the classroom.
The department offers help through the School’s programme of Voluntaries, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, to develop skills such as essay planning, revision skills, exam technique, mind-mapping and spelling.
As a full-boarding academic school, the pace of life at Oundle is purposeful and full. While we offer strong support for specific learning needs, we recognise that every pupil’s situation is different. If you would like to discuss whether Oundle is the right fit for your child’s learning profile, our Admissions team would be very happy to speak with you.
