Beyond being a successful and popular academic subject, drama is a central part of co-curricular life at Oundle. The newly refurbished Stahl Theatre is a vibrant hub for pupils who are passionate about drama in all its forms. With a 264-seat auditorium, studio spaces and a dedicated rehearsal room, it offers a professional-standard environment where pupils can explore, perform and grow.
What sets the Stahl apart is its inclusive, hands-on ethos. Pupils are encouraged to get involved in every part of the production process — from acting and directing to backstage roles such as set design, stage management, lighting, sound, costume and make-up. They are supported by a dedicated team, including the Theatre Director, three full-time technicians, a costume supervisor, box office manager and experienced drama teachers.
Each year, the Stahl hosts around 10 School and House productions and welcomes 10 professional touring companies, giving pupils the opportunity to learn from and work alongside industry professionals.
